GILER!

astagfirullahhhhhh,
tapi tu lah tak sempat nak mengetuk keyboard
menyusun ayat membina cerita, otak tengah serabut giler
hati tetap rindu nak berkarya,
giler kan?

the historic cape kemang

finally, i mean finally t got my fat ass off the bed and put it to some exercise routine this morning. at six the lagoon looks so heavenly, the sun has not risen, and the cold wind blew softly from the sea making my brisk walk along the beach zestly and lustful.
in spite of the upgrading work in the lagoon, the beach was really nice to jog and brisk walk.
there are two rescue towers along the lagoon and there is a little fishing village on the other side of the lagoon.

it's rather late for the fisherman to sell the fishes to the market so it's "makan sendiri"

but the most imposing tower is the viewing tower belonging to the islamic department to sight the moon. it is to determind the comencement of fasting month and the aid

tere were two rescue towers at the lagoon

the observation tower was so imposing.

it has now become part of the klana beach resort

ISLAMIC KLANA BEACH RESORT, TELUK KEMANG

minggu ni aku kena uruskan pembikinan L.O.

dicongak perbelanjaan sehari semalam:
Bfast                                      RM3
Tea Break                                    2
Lunch                                           6
Dinner                                          5
Minyak motor                            4
Supper                                          2
Handphone/ternet                   3
Rokok                                             5
Total                                      RM30

Besar sangat kah RM 1/- nak Diinfaq ke jalan Allah sehari?
RM1 x 365 hari = RM365 (harga satu bahagian qorban)

Bagaimana kalau aku ambil RM1 sehari drpd belanjaku utk tabung Qorban tahun depan…

apalah sangat sekadar RM1 sehari…

malunya aku dengan Allah

qurban

a hearty breakfast before wrestling with the cows

the cows were being loaded off the lorry

slaughtering the cows as early as 9 am this morning
the womenfolk has started the preparation of ingredients for cooking

processing the meat and bones of a cow.

so much has been said about the qurban in the media and so i m not going to labour into it anymore.
the place i work managed to celebrate the Aid Mubarak this year by slaughtering 4 cows.
i am amazed at these guys and gurls who got down into business starting from slaughtering the animals right to preparing the meat for meals and to be given away to the less fortunate ones.
and i see the spirit of qurban in each of their faces! and may only Allah Bless all of you who executed the affair so unselfishly with commitment and determination.

Aid El Mubarak

as you get older, i supposed you started to mellow down. what once was so important to you might not be so this time around.
i mean like rushing back to your village from the city for the aid was compulsory. Aid must be celebrated with your parents especially first thing in the morning wishing them aid Mubarak and asking for forgiveness.
now that you have become parents yourself, the important thing is still having all your members of the family together, now that the members are not your sisters and brothers but your sons and daughters.
we celebrated Aid Mubarak in putrajaya and only after the prayers we drove home to my mother inlaw's house in perak, where already waiting was my wife's two brothers and a sister with their families.
the journey was a breeze, no jams all the way. maybe insyallah, will do this again next year.

for once, walking through the dataran putrajaya was like walking in medina with all nationalities going for the morning prayers.

and you thought there will be not so many people in the mosque?

the sermon by the prime Imam of the Putrajaya Mosque

See how "meriah" the aid mubarak was in the city. let's jom p makan!

i m so very outdated

had a meeting with a consultant yesterday and the British lad had set a meeting place in "the dome" at the fountain KLCC.
upon arrival I  had few minutes to spare so i thought it would be excellent to freshen up before the meeting.
in my haste i end up in a "premium toilet" which to me looks just about the same as any other toilet.
the only difference i noticed was as i was just about to step out of the cubicle, right after flushing, eagerly stomped a bouncer-like janitor with a laser-pointed eyes, almost knocked me off my feet armed with a mob to make sure the floor was not slippery wet.
the other premium feature of the toilet was this....
a receipt and a piece of tissue paper
i am certain now for sure! KLCC is not a hang-out place for middle-class people like me!

it's breast milk for monkey's cub

the pmr week has finally passed and my son who sat for the exam cried "freedom!" monday after completing his maths and kemahiran hidup papers. freedom from what? "burlesque" was his quick reply. well good for him but i can't exactly get it out of my head just yet.

a week ago pakcik alManar wrote in his blog an article titled 'kera di hutan disusukan'. although he candidly translated it to sound like "Mangki in hutan diberi milk, babi dirumah mati hanggeri", suddently i felt a jagged dagger pierced straight through my pulsating heart.

weeks before the exam, my last boy was struggling with his revision for he had missed year 1 lesson of all subjects because he was studying in the land down under. i had purchased text books with lots of revision and work books for him to catch up. put him through tuition with no avail. but alas! he was not the studious kind. meantime, i realised that i contributed very little on his preparation for the exam too since concurrently,  i was too busy teaching profesionnal courses to other elderly students in my class. nevertheless, it's comforting to know that he is not neglected or abandoned.

it's the wanita comel who came to the rescue and undertook full command of teaching him since she spends every minutes with him at home like a tatoo. she believed she could bring him around and drill some senses into his lame head about the importance of scoring good grades with the aids of the rattan and all. That seemed to work well! Just like the wise pakcik AlManar, members of my family too believe in sharing responsibilities among us. undoubtly wanita comel was excellent in it too!

alhamdulillah. Members of the family recide "yassin" every nite seeking god's blessing and hassanah. As well as boasting his morale that we are all in it together.

teruknye kan bapak manki ni! yang kurang ketegasan, keilmuan dan kesabarannya. but i prayed hard, i mean really hard that he tried his very best, with Allah's blessing he was calm and pastoral in completing his examinations and eventually score good grades.

The latest trend sees that should there be exam, it’s the parents that go into frenzy while the kids stay cool and could not even give a hoot!

one of the three apples of my eyes
from the bottom of my heart, thank you wanita comel (my wife), don't know what i'd do without. YOU!

that's why i call my car "mother monster"

tadi masa nak kuar makan, tetiba aku disekat dekat post keselamatan. maka dengan cemas aku pon menyahut, eh apa salah saya?
"jap tuan! wiper tuan masih terangkat" berlari-lari polis keselamatan menurunkan viper depan dan belakang kereta aku. ingatkan dia nak tengok boot kereta - kot aku bawa barang terlarang!

tetiba fon berdering
"u kan memang notorious tau! nasib baik saya takde masalah jantung, kalau tak, dah arwah dah!"

la......dia marahkan aku rupanya!
cuma kerana aku malas nak turunkan wiper kereta dan terus drive kemana-mana kat dalam kampus ni. i supposed i am the only nerd that do things like that!
inilah dia menatang/monster dengan sesungut tercacak tuh!

oh! what a life and...hey i m not complaining.

Training is a wonderful world! kekadang tu, trainer rasa macam artis pun ada. lagi banyak aksi, lagi ramai penonton lagi seronok! sebaliknya jika tiada show, rasa macam down giler!
training tak le se gah atau seglamour mana. kitaorang trainer ni kena designs dan conducts classes according bidang pengkhususan masing-masing - SME (bukan small & medium enterprises, bukan, bukan, bukan!) - subject matter experts la. mine is communications
species trainer in plak ada bermacam. ada trainer yang design courses dan ngajar dan berulang kali day in and day out buat itu sahaja sepanjang hayatnya sebagai trainer.
ada trainer yang buat all of the above tapi ada tugas sampingan diarah oleh boss besar akademi seperti menjadi event director pertandingan atau kesukanan atau pameran, pengerusi of jawatankuasa segala. inilah yang dinamakan  tugas hal-hal lain.
the academy serves almost 11,000 personel dari segi kursus wajib, kursus kenaikan pangkat, kursus soft skills dan team building. with the facilities that we have here at the academy, more often than not, kena host events like pertandingan pidato, coral speaking, dan acara-acara sukan. bagi peserta yang datang, makan minum dan lodging taken care of.
in a nut shell, trainer pon sometimes jadi bola - disepak-terajang ke sana, kesini dan kesinun. above and on top of all these, we have been the envious of personnel dari pelbagai jabatan dan cawangan lain. diaorang ingat jika takde klas trainer goyang kaki dan goyang....apa-apa lah!
cuma nak kongsi info iaitu bila kami tak beraksi di dalam klas, tak desisgns courses, tak conducts classes, tak manages events atau tak mesyuarat jawatankuasa pelbagai, kami.....

klas dalam makmal instructional design workshop - payah woh!
yeah right! we go back to classes ourselves to unlearn and relearn and menjadi mahasiswa maha-situa semula! get it?

oh susahnya komunikasi!

i am in the most difficult industry of all - communications!
i used to be the head of communications for the organization.
now i m lecturing anything and everything about communications
hopefully the comm school will materialise this year and i get to be the cikgu besar of the school (berangan btoi kan?)
anyway....
i found out that my lecturing work has taken a backseat.
the comm management has taken centerstage. i am not complaining, tapi bersyukur sangat. it comes in easy for me because i have the skill and years of experience on it.

just imagine,
semalam.
we have this oration competition.
the management of the event went on splendidly!
aper tidaknye!  the commitee members ada le 80 orang kot!
peserta cuma 8 orang jer!
giler ke haper!
susah nak paham kan?

time to cherish

i travel light,
i packed just about everything i need including my jogging suit and shoes in a bag that goes on the overhead compartment, above the passengers seat. usually, there is hardly any space left. i carry my own bag because i simply hate waiting at the carousel for the luggage to come out and the thought that they simply throw your bag like garbage in the back room.
i had two expensive broken bags that has been replaced by MAS and the ones they replaced was much too inferior and dilapated compared to the bag that i purchased with stringent quality check.
i m also the sort that deliver the best i possibly could, and immediately move on without looking back.
recent experience taught me otherwise and that sometimes human touch and gratitute take center stage and made everything else second to none.
Fulfilling requests from customer is mandatory in my line of work and therefore at times spending much time on r&d as well as web browsing for materials for lectures has became a job hazard. Sacrificing your much needed sleep is nothing compared to giving an excellent presentation as an outcomes. I suppose according to maslow hierachy of human needs, I have reached the level of self actualization? Hope I m not suffering from  s.s.s (syndrome syok sendiri) hehehe.
My experience designing and delivering an integrated course for the call centre was much more than worthwhile. The sharing of experience was more than fantastic, but the gifts irman and I got from the appreciative organizer was more that words could ever describe. It made our contributions looks like a midget.
Thanks Pn Jalilah, Hani, Amir and the rest of the PKP Crew. We shall cherish the moments together because we enjoyed every moments of the time we spent together, as much as you have enjoyed participating and going through the exercises in the workshop.
Thanks a million for the experience and of course the gifts.

workshop for pensioners

i was actually giving lessons to going-to-be pensioners what to do with their lives when they have come to the end of their employment with the present employer.
the package was comprehensive: speakers came from MOH (ministry of health), EPF, AKPK, SME Bank, AMANAHRAYA and such beside taking the participants for site visits of those who has successfully move into cottage industries or earning incomes out of doing business from home.
my sessions was at the end, repping-up the whole course by having them working out and presenting their business plans complete with profit & loss accounts and balance sheets.
Tuan Doktor of DBI, i am so sorry (ampun) i could not call on you because of the time constrains but managed to have klcc & ict at the batu buruk food court in the rain. it has been raining cats & dogs in evenings or i would have make plan to go snorkling with you at pulau kapas.
jangan marah tau, nanti cepat kerepot!

felda residence is an exquisite boutique hotel by the river that has fantastic view of the crystal mosque.

visit to the cottage industry operator of tapioca and banana crakcers

update blog.

my flight from kuching reached klia at 6pm.
i have at least 2 hours before i board a plane to Kuala Terengganu
ohohoooo! got time to update blog.
was looking for burger king but it was taken over by merry brown. there is a spot at the outlet that i  like.

it has clear view of the planes

dress sense

while irman and kamarul gone, i had to manage the dress sense module alone. they have gone back to the Academy in Bangi preparing for the induction course on monday, while i have to resume my journey later this afternoon to Kuala Terengganu.
i have to organise a workshop for employees that will go into retirement in 3 years. mahathir and isa will be waiting for me.
the participants for the dress sense class came fully prepared only to find out later that some of them needs improvement, but it was done in such a way that everyone learns by way of examples. no casualties i hope - no one got hurt by the comments made by the outspoken lecture - the obnoxious me!

obnoxious but handsome lecturer

happy participants

anger management

it was a pleasant trip from kuching to santubong.
the courses for Call centre agents came in three parts. communications skill, anger management and dress sense.
While irman conducts module on efective communications and simulations of management games, the run-around-handy-man , kamarul is such a joy to have. as a course secretariat, he takes cares of everything that lectures do not want to do. i don't know how we would have couducts our courses without him.

from left: irman and kamarul

the screaming exercise that turns out to be a laughing exercise
my anger management workshop was held at the one hotel santubong, a golf resort. i had a room facing the sea and the golf course, it was beautiful. too bad the program was a crash ones so most of the time we were in the class room.

terubuk & lada hitam sarawak.

the good thing about being a guest speaker in a workshop is that the organizer treats u like a king.
they threw in dinner at this exquisite restaurant called mango tree last nite and this morning we went to a place in satok for breakfast.
i had sarawak specialty = mee kolok, kamarul and amir had rojak mee tambi special. it's an upgrade version of pasembor plus a large chunk of fried chicken.
later we walked through the satok week-end-wet market so that kamarul could get packets of black pepper those ladies back at the office asked him to buy and the salted terubuk for his family members.
someone told me not to buy the fresh, and bleached salted terubuk because they use the chemical that preserve the corps. i mean how fresh and nice looking could a fish that has been marinated with salt and dried under the sun for days.
suddently i felt like throwing up!

plenty of the salted terubuk

you could get almost anything here

these chickens are for sale and not for display

travelling again

dah lama berdiam di ofis, dah rasa macam berlapuk.
kini masa untuk beraksi dan berjalan-jalan balik.
kena ngajar bukan satu kursus tapi dua sekaligus, dalam masa satu minggu! ha! hambik ko.
i m running courses back to back, one for the call centre in  "meoww city" and the other one in the city of "fish sausages".
all-in-one gadget like this helps frequent flyers like.....me!

compact all-in-one camera bag which is blogger friendly
this bag has special compartments for laptop, camera and video camera. you could also carry the tripod stand by the side of the bag.
i just packed by luggage bag, grab this compact camera bag and off i go.

ishhh mana kl transit neh!

the best fish sausage is in mengabang tapah, terengganu

my wife wanted sata (fish flesh mix with coconut steamed in banana leaves, tastes rather sweet) & otak-otak (fish flesh mix with coconut and chilli powder grill over slow fire in a coconut leave) and we had that before leaving Besut Jetty.
my third son wanted nasi kerabu (purple flower-tinted coloured rice with herbs and vegetables to be taken with either fry or grilled chicken, beef or flour-coated fried fish. we had that for breakfast along the way. there was an american lady posting on her blog and taking pictures of the kerabu rice at the stall.
my second son wanted to have the taste of fried ice-cream so we make a stopped the batu buruk just ahead of kuala terengganu on the way back to putrajaya. i had my first fried ice cream there years ago.
all i wanted was the delicious succulant keropok lekor or fish sausage. unlike the dried fish crackers the local eats it straight out of the steamer while the more "jakun" outsiders eat it deep fried.
anyway we were driving slowly at merang and suddently there were loads of cars parked by the road side and we thought there was a wedding but then we saw long line of people waiting while others carrying bundles and bundles on both arms like a a king kong. and suddently we saw this.

eye catching signboard that is sure to make you stop.

i knew i was in for a treat. this is the first outlets that uses the q management system, patrons had to take numbers while waiting for their fresh fish sausages.
i had to wait for almost an hour for my 50 ringgit worth of fish sausage. but it was worth it. one of the best i have ever tasted.

p.s. fish sausages is a traditional snack for the dwellers on the eastern part of the peninsular Malaysia. it is made of mashed fish fillet, wheat flour, salt and water, well blended and rolled up in a shape of a sausage before steamed cooked to get fresh sausages that could be eaten right away dipped in a special sause that is sour, sweet and hot. eat it while it is steamy hot. some prefered it deep fried.

long queues to buy fish sausages

the ingredients of fish sausage

simple process and hand made

sausage is then steamed cooked

the cooked sausages is wrapped in a plastic bag
opppps, got to go. cant's resists the temptation of the fish sausages. got to steamed some from the freezer and enjoy the taste of a delidious keropok lekor! byeeee....

perhentian island, i will come back!

this year i had the intention to join my colleagues for squid fishing at kapas island. i have wanted to do this for years.
it did not happen!
the little getaway would be fantastic just for the whole family at the tioman island, since in actual fact it was too difficult to gather the 2 college boys and a secondary schooler at a particular period in view of the non-appropriate vocation time.
so, that did not happen too!
came what may, i will make it to perhentian island whatever it takes.
what could be a better time than the eid festivities. it was crazy but i did it. travelling at almost midnite across the east-west highway, we reached the besut jetty almost 5am. park our car, bought the ferry ticket and departed at the earliest boat ride at 7am eventhough there was no prior hotel booking. i did called up few chalets but they were all booked up, so we took our chances. out of Arwana, Ulu-ulu, coral bay, flora and fauna, we managed to secure a chalet at flora!
there were 90% foreign tourist and 10% asian - malaysian included! it was like a holiday overseas!
i telll ya! this place is a real heaven on earth.

departing from besut jetty at dawn

each boat was equipped with life jacket. passengers then ferried by smaller boat to the island to protect the coral

fantastic chalets on perhentian besar

sun, sea, snorkling and beaches - owh! heaven on earth. fresh seafood!

equipments you need for snorkling or

deep sea diving, readily available at affordable price. of course you could bring your own!
